Anyways am sure you people can guess what this is gonna be about..
Avinashi Road it is.... I congratulate the administration on finally realising after eons that this road needs a makeover but I totally fail to see why it has to be at the cost of mother nature. I think just by widening the road, not much is going to be achieved. I think more land acqusition should be done to make sure that proper walkways are constructed,Lamp posts and transformers don't block any walking path and proper places are allotted for parking as well. But yes i do notice that things are more fast paced this time. The trees were felled fast I agree, but even the shifting of electric poles along certain stretches has been fast so overall it doesn't seem like a govt job actually... Lets just hope that things continue at this pace and yes, hopefully Mother nature is given some consideration so that some of the green cover could return giving some of those stretches the unparalleled shade during summer...

Felling trees that have been there for ages isn't gonna solve the problem.And planting saplings again, waiting for them to grow back is gonna take even longer. Like you've pointed out, why cut down trees at the cost of widening the road. Avinashi Road looks horrible without them.
Well i simply agree...there is a certain sacrifice involved in the growth of technology and commercial activities but one has to stop somewhere ...and that too before its too late...Avinashi Road looks barren, looks alien without those good old beautiful trees...now its just the buildings, vehicles and dust and nope its not a pretty picture at all...i wonder how much good comes out of chopping down these trees and also if that policy of planting multiple saplings for every tree cut is being implemented. Somehow i feel more damage is being done by cutting trees than by having left Avinashi road congested!
Sad that humans destroy nature without batting an eye lid.But I guess for road safety to widen the road it is a necessity.
